Some of the most productive agricultural land in South Africa can be found in Bonnievale. The natural beauty of this area is complemented by rich soils and ample water for irrigation - ideal conditions for cultivating high quality wines. The lime rich soil and unique climate gives Bonnievale the natural attributes to growers and wineries in the region and therefor Bonnievale is well known for its Chardonnay and Colombar.

The philosophy behind this unique wine project is to combine the exceptional conditions of this new world terroir with the most outstanding French varieties resulting in the creation of the best of both worlds. For that reason the choice of the location was very important.

Goedverwacht Wine Estate is situated between Robertson and Bonnievale, South Africa and is part of the Robertson Valley ( Route 62 ). Visitors are welcome to taste wine while enjoying the scenery.

Jonkheer Wines is owned by the Jonker family, and consists of three farms, a wine cellar, as well as a firm specializing in the distribution of quality wines.

Over the years we have crafted our wine making skills into becoming an art form.
We strongly believe that the success of our product lies in the consistent production
of high-quality grapes.

We only specialize in two white wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc, every vintage. Therefore we have the time to nurture our grapes and handle our wines as gentle as possible to create something special and unique.

We believe in producing limited quantities of hand-crafted, quality wines, using time-honoured methods combined with modern technology to bring out the best in the grapes from the vineyards and capture it in our wines.

Accordingly Weltevrede have bottled three terroir specific Chardonnays on the Estate. With these wines Weltevrede has been selected as one of the top 8 wine estates in South Africa in the national Veritas Competition, with two double golds for their Chardonnays and two gold awards.

Jan firmly believes that winemaking starts in the vineyard, thus handling the vineyards with the utmost care to ensure low yields, this ensures greater quality in the wines during the winemaking process.
